MNS 6K Secure
Managed Networks Software (MNS), combined with a 6KSeries Switch, provides flexibility, power, and efficiency in a managed Ethernet platform. MNS-6K-SECURE provides premium security capabilities for environments demanding extra security. A full range of industry-standard software functions in the MNS-6K software product line enables the versatile 6K Switches to perform efficiently in a wide range of managed LAN applications, including redundant topologies.
Use of the Internet and high performance software applications continues to grow at a rapid pace. Factory automation, industrial control, video streaming, database queries, communications systems, and file transfers all place a premium on performance, reliability and security.
Today’s managed networks need quick response times with trusted services when delivering and receiving data. 6K Switches can be configured to include a user-selected mix of 10/100 Mb copper, 10/100/1000Mb copper, 10 Mb and 100 Mb fibre, and Gigabit (1000 Mb) fibre Ethernet segments.
With MNS-6K, network managers are able to manage their traffic and control their network operations for security, fault tolerance, and performance. MNS-6K-SECURE Release 14.1 incorporates all of the features of MNS-6K basic software Release 4.1, and adds the following additional features:
- RADIUS IEEE 802.1x for controlling access to the network
- TACACS+ for securing log-in to configure devices
- Additional managers and users which can be setup locally
- Support for up to 256 VLANs
- Multi-level priorities (4 levels) for packets
- Syslog capabilities for logging events and consolidating logs
- SNTP Server to synchronize time across multiple network devices for applications such as event logs, Syslog, video time stamping, etc...
- DHCP server to control and allocate IP addresses
- Remote access using SSH and SSL for secure Web access
- Secure FTP for secure file upload and download – including configuration information
- Granular control of which users can see and modify specific groups of commands
- DNS client capabilities so logical names can be used instead of IP address to specify a host
- Access to the switch can be controlled via access rules, forcing secure access or access from certain portions of the network
- Welcome message, which can be modified by network managers to thwart trespassers on the devices Managed Networks Software
