New sub-second Redundancy software!
Supplied free of charge, GarrettCom’s MNS-6K Release 4.1 RSTP provides recovery times of just 5ms per hop.
Engineers looking to build fault detection and recovery capabilities into their Ethernet LANs to provide redundancy features have traditionally faced sacrificing ultimate performance so as to minimise cost and/or maintain multi-vendor compatibility.
Now GarrettCom Europe has removed the need to compromise with the development of an improved RSTP (rapid spanning tree protocol) technology that combines the performance of proprietary solutions with the compatibility of industry standard solutions.
Supplied free of charge, GarrettCom’s MNS-6K Release 4.1 RSTP provides recovery times of just 5ms per hop, dramatically improving on the performance of existing solutions but without resorting to proprietary technologies. It is optimised for both ring and mesh networks, and provides scalability for large network implementations without compromising on performance – a weakness of traditional RSTP.
GarrettCom European Sales and Marketing Manager David Moss comments: “With this latest version of the MNS-6K Managed Ethernet Switch software, GarrettCom has transformed the redundancy features available. The performance is astonishing, and gone are the days of RSTP not supporting large ring applications.
For anyone familiar with RSTP already, there are none of the issues of learning a new technology that come with adopting proprietary solutions, and its multi-vendor compatibility means it can readily be applied to existing networks while allowing users the freedom to choose best of breed products as the network expands over time.”
