4K220's boost the performance of Ethernet LANs with a flexibility of 10Mb or 100Mb switching speeds, full or half-duplex, for a low cost per port.
Where vertical rack space is at a premium, the 1U 4K220 is very economical. , other solutions for an equal port count can texceed double the rack space. With the 4K220, all rack-mount situations are covered by available brackets, including 19”, ETSI, and 23” Telco.
The 40-port density in a 1U (1¾ inches high) rack-mount “reverse” package is obtained by dedicating the front of the unit to the LED indicators, and the rear of the unit to wiring and power connectors. When the unit is in operation, the status LEDs may be monitored without interference from the wiring and cables on the other side.
Designed for use in Carrier Class network traffic center applications, the 40-port 4K220 are easy to install and use. Addresses of attached nodes are automatically learned and maintained, adapting the switching services to network changes and expansions to provide plug-and-play operation. LEDs provide status information on each port.
The 4K220 are non-blocking on 20-port banks, and include large 2MB packet buffers for advanced performance, even with unbalanced loads. The dynamic 4K-node address table allows the 40-port to support large networks. All of the 4K-Series, with store-and-forward switching, filter all faulty packets to minimise traffic congestion.
Model 4K220 have a rugged metal case and an auto-ranging power supply for operation with standard AC power worldwide. Models with optional DC input power are available. The 4K-Series and all other products are made in the USA and backed by a three-year warranty.
